Pan sear
Heat is the element that this cooking method counts on to add that nice, seared texture on the outside of your meat - the caramelisation we all love. All you need is a simple shallow pan to achieve this.
Start by preheating your pan to a high temperature, add a tablespoonful of oil, and add your meat when the oil starts to smoke slightly. (Make sure your meat is nicely seasoned too!)
We recommend using a cast iron skillet for the best results as they retain heat well, browning your meat evenly. To sear the sides of your steak, consider turning them with a pair of tongs to sear for about a minute per edge.
